• It is a guide only to assist dealers and customers to choose the most suitable truck. New finished vehicle must be checked for compliance before going on the road at a test station or by a LTSA approved technician.
• Trucks with a GVW over 12000 kg have to comply to a SRT 0,35 g. Tractors need not meet.
• Compliance date is from 1st Jan 2003, but due to delays in having approved engineers and to obtain data, the LTSA accepted suspension that it may take until mid-2004 to assess the existing fleet. The operator should check their trucks as soon as possible, particularly livestock and logging trucks.
• Although the trucks need not be certified, it is the operator's responsibility to ensure that he knows its loading restrictions for each truck.
